Egor Efiok, Omokri, Atiku, Jeta Amata shine at 2019 Hollywood Weekly Film Festival



It was glitz and glamour at the 6th Annual Hollywood Weekly Magazine Film Festival & Awards, held November 2, 2019, at the iconic Warner Bros. Studios in California, United States of America.

And Cross River born Multi Award winning filmmaker and movie producer, Egor Efiok, were among top-guns in the movie industry that were honoured at this year’s event.

At the event tagged; ‘Hollywood Meets Nollywod;’ the movie – Road To Redemption, directed by Jeta Amata and produced by Egor Efiok, Tess Cacciatore, Vanessa Martini and Joan McCarthy, won “Best Feature Film 2019”.

The film teaches awareness about the dangers of Vesticovaginal fistula (VVF) and stars musician, Akon, Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives), Zack Amata, Fred Amata, Viva Bianca, Yvonne Nelson, Margaret Avery and many other top stars.

Egor who sits as the Director General of Callyhood also bagged the Hollywood Excellence Award for her sterling contributions to the development of the industry both home and in diaspora.

Also honoured at the event are former spokesman to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Reno Omokri, who won the Hollywood “Most Outstanding Humanitarian Cause Award”; as well as Nollywood sensation, Regina Daniels who scooped the “Most Outstanding Child Star Award – outside of the USA).

Hollywood Weekly Magazine’s Film Festival is a leading platform where filmmakers from all over the world showcase their creativity and experience in the business of filmmaking.

Now in it’s 6th year, the film festival attracts filmmakers from countries around the world who share greater diversity, by fostering a formidable force in the production of films with strong female characters, and stories that reflect ethnic cultures from other parts of the world.

The festival is held on an actual major studio lot, and provides added value by being the only Hollywood Film Festival that also publishes it’s own Hollywood Magazine.

Some of the special guests at the event includes: former Nigeria’s President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, represented by the Chairman of The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation; Mr. Stephen Tobbins, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ably represented by his son, Abba Atiku; as well as veteran Nollywood actors, Zick Zulu Okafor and Ejike Asiegbu.
