Calabar Raises the Bar for NGT Season

It's the turn of Calabar to produce who'll represent them in this year's edition of one of Nigeria's reality
TV series, Nigeria's Got Talent Season 2.
So when the trio of Kate Henshaw, Dan Foster, Yibo Koko and their crew stormed the ancient city of
Calabar, contestants went out en mass to slug it out.
Nigerians from all the nooks and crannies of the city to the second phase of the regional auditions,
which held on Saturday, October 12, 2013.
This year’s auditions, which first swept through Abuja on October 9 received a thunderous welcome
from hundreds of eager talents who had trooped to the venue in a bid to showcase their talent and
impress the judges.
The exclusive Monty Suites, Calabar was a whirlwind of activity for the motley selection of singers, dancers, actors, comedians, instrumentalists and many more who vied for the judges commendation and the once in a lifetime opportunity to win the star prize of N10 million.
“Kellyz Family”, a prolific dance group, who had auditioned in Season 1, delivered one of the most
outstanding performances during the Calabar auditions.  “It was a good comeback for them this
year. I just hope they can sustain this performance,” noted one of the judges.
“I honestly can’t say that I’m surprised. There's never been any doubt in my mind that Nigeria’s just
brimming full of talent. My team knows that I'm usually chocking full of a lot of emotions during
these auditions, pride, anticipation, extreme happiness but never surprise.” Every stage of the
auditions reaffirms this belief and as always I look out for the next stage,” says Angela Fadayiro,
project Manager Nigeria’s Got Talent.
The Calabar auditions also brought back other eager participants from Season 1 also aiming at another
shot at the grand prize. One of such was Boniface Ukeme, whose splendid performance last year was
impressive but failed to win him the golden prize.
“I am not only back in season two with even more thrilling dance moves but I’m also here to walk
away with the grand prize,” says Ukeme confidently.
Other returnees were ‘skating champ’ Edet, who came back to the auditions with his crew, ‘Magic
Rollers’ and David a dancer who made it to the Lagos finale, but was cut off after the round of
theatre auditions. Season 2 auditions will also hold in Calabar in Port Harcourt on October 15, Enugu October 17, Asaba October 19, Benin October 21, Ibadan October 23 and Lagos October 26 and October 27 2013.
