Iyanya: Making Money...Making Calabar Proud

The Efik people in Calabar, the residents of the city, the people of Cross River and neighbouring Akwa Ibom will indeed be proud of Iyanya Mbuk and his rising profile.
Truth is, Iyanya was an average Calabar boy who grew up on the streets paying his dues with music, and his success should not change that. His manager, Ubi Franklin, personally shared a bitterness with me in 2012, when Iyanya prostrated before one Mr. Chuks who used to manage Channel View Hotel, where Iyanya was paid a token to sing Karaoke way back.

Iyanya flaunting his customized Zinox Computer
Iyanya recently inked a $350, 000 deal with Nigerian computer manufacturers 'Zinox'. The Kukere master will be on their billboards from now on and he is even expected to compose a special song for their products. Also, for every Zinox product, Iyanya’s music will be built in till the deal expires in 12 months.
In addition, any Zinox launch/event will be attended by Iyanya automatically. Very sweet deal!!!

This is some sort of pat on the back for Iyanya (remember your root), to Ubi, Emma and the entire MMM Group, to keep on keeping their heads up, and to remember Calabar people in their kingdom.

Thumbs Up!
