Fun Extravaganza at August Cross River Industry Nite


… Tourism Commissioner announces Gov Ayade's 12,000 dollars prize money for Cross River Talent Hunt this August!


The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Cross River State, Hon. Eric Anderson has assured entertainment practitioners in the state of the readiness of the state government to partner with stakeholders towards the betterment of the industry. He made the statement when he appeared as Special Guest of Honour at the Cross River Entertainers Industry Nite - August Edition, on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Keves Lounge, Calabar.

Anchored by the talented comedian, MC George, Nicechriz kicked off the show with freestyle and punchlines sequel to his groovy rap songs, the August edition witnessed the grand entry of a new diva by the name Hillz, also featuring back-to-back performances by Strategy, Heyo Noni, Shark2Six, Johnny Kage, Teddy Banty, Calabar Professional Dance Group, Upper X and the Okpo Rekords crew.

The monthly event, which is packaged by the Effiom Trombone led South Central Communications enjoys support from HERO, Keves Inn & Suites, Cross River State Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Events Management desk of the Governor's office.

‘I am just like you, and will retire from politics to acting’ said the state Tourism Commissioner, an actor cum politician, in his remark, Mr Eric, who is the member of the State executive council supervising the entertainment industry stated that his boss, the entertainment loving Governor Ben Ayade is very supportive of the industry, which is why he has staked a whopping $12,000 dollars for winners in the forthcoming Cross River’s Got Talents holding in the state this August.

Mr Anderson emphasised that since assumption, his office has remained open to veritable partnerships geared towards moving the industry forward and empowering entertainers, a move geared towards curbing youth unemployment in the country. Registration for Cross River Talent Hunt is currently on going at the Okoi Arikpo House Ministry office.

Present at the occasion were the management staff of Keves Inn & Suites, comprising of Mr Abbey, Mr Nobert, Babana and Miss Pamela, the presence of CEO Sly Shows, a foremost lighting and event company in the state, Mr Sylvester and CEO of popular blog Wetinhappen.com.ng, Aniekan Ekah added colour. The next Cross River Entertainment Industry Nite will hold on September 6, 2018, the first Thursday of the month.
