The performance by the New Discovery for the nite and 'Customer’ crooner, Deeno opened the floor at the reloaded edition of Cross River Entertainment Industry Nite, (CREIN), which was held at Keves Inn & Suites’s Splurge Nightclub Thursday night, this set the tone for a fun filled night for entertainers and fun lovers in the paradise city of Calabar.
It was an evening of undiluted entertainment usually for all musicians, DJs, comedians, dancers, actors, entertainment practitioners and service providers in Cross River state. In it's 6th year,the relaunch edition held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 featured South South's rave of the moment, Unik Brothers and wave making artistes in the state; Beetovin, Young Bone, Challex, Viva Bash Baby, Deeno and Irek Dee.
The event was graced by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ben Ayade on Events, Hon. Tom Ikpeme, Special Assistant to Governor on Admin and Governor's Office, Mr Noel Ugbong, GM Sparkling FM, GM Fad FM, the Correct FM crew and a host of other stakeholders in the entertainment industry.
Following Deeno, Irek Dee came through with a confession for his 'Calabar Love’, a song which features Upper X of the Okpo Records fame, ushering in the only Diva for the night, Viva Bash baby, who left guests in awe with her breathtaking performance.
The convener, Effiom Trombone in his remark, stated that this is just the beginning of great things to come, as subsequent editions will be more exciting with innovations to better the lot of entertainers in the state. He thanked the management of Keves Inn & Suites, South South Manager of Hero Lager/ Budweiser, and the Cross River State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon Eric Anderson who was unavoidably absent due to official assignment outside the state, but sent his regards. Effiom hinted that the August edition on the first Thursday will feature Johnny Kage, Okpo Rekords and surprise guest artistes.
In between rib cracking jokes by the host Daddy Jay, the next batch of performances by Beetovin, Challex and Young Bone raised the tempo and eventually the raised the roof before UNIK Brodaz tore the club apart with their performance. The love from the Calabar fans for their monster hit 'AMEM?’ was immeasurable, same reception enjoyed by the Cross River Professional Dancers Group during their performance.
Upper X, Zillions, Teddy Banty, Johnny Kage were on ground to show solidarity. Splurge Nite Club Inhouse disc jockey, DJ Harry took over there after as guests all danced the night away.
