Gospel Music Africa screens Nigerian contestants in Calabar

The Cultural Center, Calabar wore the best of looks on Friday, 15th June 2018 as it played host to hundreds of contestants who entered for the first ever Gospel Music Competition- TV Reality Show.
It was a clash of voices, as the organizers of Gospel Music Africa (GMA) TV Reality Competition staged their Nigerian final auditions in Calabar, to select those who will represent the country in the African contest.
The Project Progenitor, Mr Matthew Obono, in his remarks, expressed profound gratitude to God, his team and government of Cross River State, for helping bring to life an idea he concieved ten years ago.
GMA is the biggest gospel music reality TV competition and the first of its kind in Africa with online registrations grossing over 40,000 registrations, from 27 African countries across the continent.
Participating countries include Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, Liberia, Cameroun, Uganda, Lesotho, Niger, Gambia, Togo, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Congo, Malawi and Zambia.
To be hosted in Calabar later in the year, the music reality TV competition will have only 30 contestants battle to become the King or Queen of Gospel Music in Africa. Prizes to be won include a cash prize of $20,000, a brand new car and international recording deals.
