Summer Queens Tour coming soon

If you are a beauty queen in Calabar or Cross River state, you should enroll for Summer Queens Tour in Akwa Ibom state, the fastest developing state in Nigeria, as it will play host to 27 Queens from different states of the federation from the 18th through to the 21st of July 2013, embarking on a fact finding tour of the much publicized uncommon transformation projects in the state.

It will be a journey to remember for a lifetime, as disclosed in a chat with Ubong Udobong the Project Director who  stated that the idea is born out of the need to invite the world to Akwa Ibom as a destination of choice for business and leisure, in his words ‘Governor Godswill Akpabio CON, through his good governance, has been doing a lot of qualitative projects and touching lives, we want to spread this message across Nigeria, so we came up with the idea to invite the 27 queens from different states in Nigeria to aid that. The queens are coming to see for themselves all they have heard and seen in the media about Akwa Ibom, Queens are not mere beauties, but an embodiment of elegance with teeming fan-base because of the crown they wear, and the people they represent, after the tour, they will use their beauty, and good office to spread the message of development in the state to other states in their respective capacities’.

Asides Le Meridien Ibom hotel & Golf Resort, which is the best in West Africa, the magnificent edifice of the Ibom E-Library, and Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Complex, the queens will also visit historic tourist sites like the Ukanafun Blue River, The Mary Slessor Tomb, Ibeno Beach, Raffia City Ikot Ekpene with a bid to see how these sites can be tapped and promoted.

The tour is packaged by Global Tourism & Tours in collaboration with P.isis World, on arrival to Uyo, the queens will pay a courtesy call to the ministry of Culture & Tourism, and other well meaning citizens of Akwa Ibom state, the current Miss Akwa Ibom & African Queen will take them around.
